PREFACE JESICA 2025
In the era of globalization, the dynamics of the world economy are increasingly shaped by
innovation, digital transformation, and the pursuit of sustainability. These three
dimensions have become critical drivers of economic development, influencing how businesses
operate, governments design policies, and societies adapt to rapid change. While
digitalization fosters efficiency, competitiveness, and the emergence of new business
models, it also introduces challenges such as digital inequality, cybersecurity risks, and
disruptions to traditional economic structures. At the same time, sustainability has emerged
as a global imperative, requiring all stakeholders to integrate environmental, social, and
governance (ESG) considerations into economic and business practices.
Recognizing these developments, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas
Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta proudly organizes the 5th Jakarta Economic
Sustainability International Conference Agenda (JESICA) under the theme
“Innovation, Digitalization, and Sustainability: Shaping the Future of Global Economy and
Business.” This International Seminar and Call for Papers serves as a platform for scholars,
researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from around the globe to engage in meaningful
dialogue, share research insights, and foster collaborations. The conference aspires to
contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the development of strategies that will shape
a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future for the global economy and business.
